Police have appealed for witnesses after a man was found badly injured in a Perthshire town centre.
Officers were called to reports of a collapsed male near the Royal Bank of Scotland in Allan Street, Blairgowrie, just after 6am on Tuesday.
The man, who had injuries to his face, head and arm, was taken by ambulance to Ninewells Hospital.
Police Scotland said he is still being treated for his injuries, but has been unable to tell investigators what happened to him.
A spokesman said: “A man in his early 50s was found lying in the street. He was taken to Ninewells Hospital by ambulance and is still being treated for his injuries there.
“At this time, he has been unable to speak with police, and as such we do not know what happened to him, or how he came to be injured.”
The spokesman said: “He may have been seen in the area around that time, and may have been under the influence of alcohol.”
The man, who has grey hair, was wearing dark clothing when he was found.
