Wide range of acts lined up to perform at Perth Concert Hall

Perth audiences can enjoy performers ranging from comedian Jimmy Carr to the dancers of the Russian State Ballet over the coming months.

The new autumn/winter brochure revealing the season’s offerings in Perth Concert Hall – and the soon to be reopened Perth Theatre – has just been launched.

While the concert hall ably hosted the pantomime while Perth Theatre has been refurbished, traditionalists will be glad to see that Aladdin is back in its rightful home on the restored main stage of the historic theatre.

Classical highlights at the concert hall include regular favourites, Perth Piano Sundays, lunchtime concerts and Perth Concert Series.

Ryedale Festival Opera brings a fully staged version of Mozart’s tale of intrigue, La Finta Giardiniera to Perth Concert Hall while Nicola Benedetti and Friends will play string quartets by Beethoven and Shostakovich.

Top international orchestra St Petersburg Symphony Orchestra will perform the music of its native composers Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov.

Traditional musicians including Skerryvore, Breabach, Kris Drever and Julie Fowlis will perform at Perth Concert Hall in Celtic Sessions, a three-concert series of world-class acoustic music inspired by celtic traditions.

Scottish live acts will include Highland band Skipinnish, and a pre-Hogmanay party from hometown country rockers Red Pine Timber Co.

The Billy Fury Story, The Ultimate Eagles and The Simon and Garfunkel Story will rekindle some musical memories and Lulu will deliver all the hits from her lengthy career.

Following last year’s sell-out, The Nutcracker, the Russian State Ballet and Opera House return with the ballet, Swan Lake.

Jimmy Carr and Jon Richardson play it for laughs and Perth Film Society presents a season of carefully selected films from home and abroad.

Drama, music and dance lovers can also take part in a series of join in activities and workshops.
