A Perthshire church made internationally famous by a hit US TV series welcomed hundreds of visitors as part of Doors Open Day.
Tibbermore Church, which lies two and a half miles west of Perth, featured in the fantasy drama Outlander.
The show follows Second World War combat nurse Claire Randall after she inadvertently stumbles back in time to 1743 and is forced through circumstance to marry young highlander Jamie Fraser.
The Perthshire church plays a starring role in episode 11, “The Devil’s Mark”, standing in for Cranesmuir Church, where Claire and fellow time traveller Geillis Duncan are put on trial for witchcraft.
The Doors Open Day weekend comes just one week before the airing of the third series, which will follow the fortunes of the Claire and Jamie after they were parted by Culloden and she returned to the 20th century.
Doors Open Day continues at various locations across Perth and Kinross over the coming two weekends.
Meanwhile historic places in Dunkeld and Birnam were marked at the weekend, with the launch of a new heritage trail.
Great British Bake Off star Flora Shedden helped launch the initiative, which saw blue plaques are being installed at scores of landmark buildings, bridges and structures throughout the area, by baking a special cake.
A host of colourful costumed characters, representing some of the area’s most famous faces, also made an appearance.
The Dunkeld and Birnam Historical Society secured listed building consent to install blue plaques at more than 30 places as part of a drive to lure more tourists to the area.
Crieff’s railway history was also celebrated at the weekend, with the town’s first ever Crieff Lines festival, marking 50 years since the local railway closed.
The three-day event celebrated the importance the railways had to Strathearn.
For more than a century they were integral to the region but the final part of the line closed for good on September 11 1967.
