Brilliant bakers are being sought to replicake Perth and Kinross in edible form.
Organisers of Perth Cake Fest want to create a sponge and fondant map to landmark buildings across the city and beyond.
The culinary creations will be put on temporary display in the concert hall, before being sliced up and eaten by festival-goers.
The project is being led by Cake Fest head baker Simon Preston, who will guide baking teams through the free-to-enter event.
The grand unveiling of Cake Fest Perth and Kinross will take place as part of Perth’s Winter Festival celebrations on Sunday November 19 at Horsecross Plaza.
The fully edible landscape will be modelled under cover and bakers will arrive throughout the day to add their creation to the masterpiece.
Bakers taking part can choose a landmark they love to be temporarily immortalised in cake or select from a list, which includes The Black Watch Museum, Perth Bridge, Scone Palace, Dunkeld Cathedral, The Scottish Crannog Centre, Taymouth Castle and the Glenturret distillery.
Perth and Kinross Provost Dennis Melloy said: “This will be a wonderful addition to our Winter Festival this year, and I really hope that people get behind this and use their imagination to create some fantastic pieces to feature on the map.
“This is an opportunity for anyone who enjoys baking to get together and have some fun to create something unique.
“There is a wealth of inspiration across the region and I’m really looking forward to seeing the finished map.”
Simon Preston added: “Cake Fest is all about getting friends, families and colleagues together to bake and to celebrate their home and community, everyone is welcome to take part and I’ll advise and guide you throughout the adventure.
“I’m keen to get a great mix of bakers from across the region and beyond involved in this challenge, we’re not looking for perfectly scaled masterpieces but we are looking for, up-for-it attitudes and a passion for Perth and Kinross’ buildings and landscape.”
