Beefed up security measures at the Enchanted Forest are a “sign of the times”, organisers have said.
Staff at the annual sound and light show have received extra training this year to help them deal with potential terror threats.
In addition extra measures, including a security guard, have been put in place at the bus departure point in Pitlochry.
The site at Faskally Woods attracts around 2,500 visitors on every night of the show’s month-long run.
A spokesperson for The Enchanted Forest Community Trust said: “The organisers of this year’s Enchanted Forest event took the advice of Police Scotland and Event Scotland to bolster our security presence by employing a dedicated security guard at our departures point.
“They are not only a visual presence but give our customers confidence that in today’s climate we take their security seriously.
“We do perform random bag checks and patrol the area to ensure no suspicious activity is taking place.
“This was not in response to a direct security threat but is, sadly, a sign of the times. Our visitors’ experience and enjoyment is, and has always been, our highest priority.”
The 2017 show Oir an Uisge sold out before opening night on September 28.
