The clubs, individuals, teams and events which made the sporting news this year will be honoured for their achievements at the annual Perth and Kinross Sports Awards.
Nominations are now open for the 27th awards and local people have until January 26 next year to put forward their suggestions for worthy recipients.
Organisers at Perth and Kinross Sports Council and Live Active Leisure are looking for nominations across 11 different categories including the prestigious Perth and Kinross Sports Person of the Year whose past winners include Olympic silver medallist Stephen Milne and European Indoor Championships gold medallist Laura Muir.
The Perth and Kinross Sports Person of the Year Awards will be held at the Dewars Centre in Perth on Friday March 16, 2018, with sports broadcaster and Courier columnist Jim Spence hosting the evening which will celebrate the achievements of the area’s local sportspeople.
One of the year’s standout achievements saw British long-distance cyclist Mark Beaumont break the world record for cycling around the world, a feat which included the completion of an 18,000 mile journey in fewer than 79 days.
From local school teams to Olympians, individual coaches to volunteers, the Perth and Kinross Sports Awards recognise the huge wealth of sporting talent the region has to offer, and also celebrate the outstanding achievements of many of Perthshire’s local sports personalities and clubs.

The sport must be officially recognised by sportscotland. Entries will be judged on merits from the January 1 to December 31 this year.
