A number of new acts have been announced for one of the biggest music events taking place in Tayside this year.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds will take to the stage at Scone Palace as part of BBC Music’s The Biggest Weekend.

Last month Simple Minds and Nigel Kennedy were also announced for the event, which will take place from Friday, May 25 until Saturday, May 26.

And today the BBC revealed the acts that will join the former Oasis man on the Perthshire stage.

Gaelic singer Julie Fowlis will play the event as will Jamie Cullum, Amy McDonald, The Shires, Evelyn Glennie, The Beat starring Dave Wakeling, Danielle de Niese and the Scottish Jazz Orchestra direct by Tommy Smith.
