Police have warned there is a high risk of disruption to motorists in Courier Country due to the ‘beast from the east’ arriving.
The freezing weather has blown over from Siberia and the Met Office has issued yellow and amber warnings for snow over the course of the remainder of the week.
Police Scotland has issued a statement to those that travel warning of potential hazardous driving conditions, and this includes areas in Courier Country.
“There is a high risk of disruption for Tayside and Fife, Highlands, Grampian, Lothian and Borders, South West Scotland, Central and Strathclyde,” the statement says.
“Drivers of HGVs should drive with extreme caution.”
Driving conditions were difficult on the M90 Inverkeithing to Perth motorway with heavy downfalls of snow during the early morning commute. And motorists in Fife experienced delays with an accident on the A92 at Crossgates at 8.05am holding up northbound traffic for around 15 minutes.
It was cleared around 8.25am.
The inclement weather is expected to run on until the weekend.
