An elderly woman has been airlifted to hospital after a two-vehicle smash on the A9, near Dunkeld.
Emergency crews were called to the collision between a car and a lorry at 8.37am on Monday.
The accident happened near the Dalguise junction, about a mile north of Dunkeld, and Traffic Scotland has warned that the road is blocked in both directions.
Drivers have reported tailbacks of up to three miles and transport giant Stagecoach has warned of significant delays to its service.
A fire services spokesman said four appliances and a “heavy rescue unit” had been called to the scene.

He confirmed the crash involved an HGV.
Police Scotland confirmed that an elderly woman had been taken to hospital by air ambulance. Her injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

The road re-opened at 10.45am, although it will take some time for traffic to clear.
