Whether you know what you want to study, or have no idea at all, Perth College UHI’s Open Day on Saturday, March 16 aims to give you a taste of life at the Crieff Road Campus.

Academic staff will be on hand to help you decide the right course for you and help you on your journey to success.

During the open day you can:

  • Take a tour of the campus to view the areas you are interested in
  • Meet with lecturers to have your questions answered
  • Relax and take in your surroundings at the Costa cafés, which are located throughout the campus

Perth College UHI is part of the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI), a network comprising 13 partner colleges and research institutions. This allows all students to access a wide range of courses and training.

Student Zunaira Razwan said: “I am originally from Italy but live in Perth. I decided to choose the HNC Computing course because I am interested in technology and programming.

“I like that my course is well organised and had all the units I wanted to learn. My favourite is the Mobile Apps unit, in it we have learnt the coding behind building apps. There are lots of positive opportunities at Perth College UHI, there have been lots of events to help students learn something new.

“My qualification will help me get a job in an IT company – I’m really interested in software development.”

Perth native Lewis Melloy chose to study at the college.

He explained: “Before I came to Perth College UHI, I was at Perth Grammar School.

“While I was at school, I spent time in the Food Studies and Hospitality course at Perth College UHI and really enjoyed it.

“I started off by doing my HNC Coaching and Developing Sport course and then progressed to HND and now the Bsc (hons) Sport and Fitness degree. The Sport and Fitness lecturers support the students in every way possible, there are also great learning materials provided, both in class and on blackboard.

“I’ve really enjoyed having the opportunity to work through these qualifications, as well as being chosen as a sport and fitness ambassador.

“It’s been great to enjoy the brand new Academy of Sport and Wellbeing and the facilities that come with it. In the future, I plan to become a P.E. teacher and want to go on to complete my Post Graduate in teacher training.”
