The case against three men accused of being involved in a bloodbath attack in Perth has been adjourned.
Perth Sheriff Court heard there was so much blood at the scene of the alleged crime that forensic officers had needed longer than usual to process the evidence.
Martin Reilly and Kristopher Zdrzalek are accused of stabbing David Goldie at a flat in the city’s Grampian Court, while Jordan Painter is accused of disposing of evidence.
It is alleged Reilly, 38, and Zdrzalek, 28, assaulted the man by repeatedly striking him with a blade or sharply-pointed instrument to his severe injury, permanent disfigurement and to the danger of his life.
The attack is alleged to have happened on the top floor of a block of flats in Grampian Court, off Crieff Road, on January 9 this year.
It is said that the pair also abducted a woman by barricading the door to the property and refusing to let her leave. They are also said to have instructed her to clean up blood at the property and told Painter, 24, to get rid of potential evidence.
Painter, of Crieff Road, Perth, is accused of taking items including a carpet and clothing from the property and disposing of them in bins and on wasteland, in an attempt to defeat the ends of justice.
Reilly is further accused of attacking three police officers at the property. He faces accusations that, while in the process of being arrested, he threw a metal bar or metal spanner at the officers and struck a police shield.
It is also alleged that, over the course of several hours, both men refused to allow police entry and thereafter barricaded the door.
A final charge alleges that Reilly and Zdrzalek, who both appeared from custody, behaved in a threatening and abusive manner by shouting, swearing and making threats of violence.
The trio will appear again in a week’s time.
Reilly and Zdrzalek were again remanded in custody and Painter was granted bail until the next hearing.
