Perth and Kinross Council is set to install temporary traffic lights and close a junction on the south western edge of the city for resurfacing works next week.
The local authority is about to embark on a resurfacing project at a busy Glasgow Road junction which could take almost a week.
Temporary traffic lights will be in effect at night until the project is complete.
A council spokesperson said: “As part of the road remediation works in Perth’s Cherrybank area, Perth and Kinross Council would advise that overnight road resurfacing will begin this Sunday and take up to six nights to complete, subject to weather conditions.
“Temporary traffic signals will be in place on Glasgow Road each night between 7pm and 6am while the resurfacing works are carried out.
“The Oakbank Place/ Glasgow Road junction will need to be closed due to the road layout and narrow road widths.
“Access to Cleeve Drive will be maintained from Oakbank Place only.”
The council is contacting local residents in the works area directly and is apologising for any inconvenience that may arise during the period of the works.
The local authority’s contractors will complete the works likely to cause the most disruption by 11pm each night to minimise noise nuisance as far as possible.
