A man has been taken to hospital following a crash on one of Scotland’s busiest roads.

A lorry and a car collided on the A9 Perth to Stirling road, at the junction with the A820 Doune to Dunblane route, at about 2.10pm.

The incident has forced the closure of one northbound lane of the dual carriageway.

Police and paramedics were called to the scene. The driver was taken to hospital, however his injuries are not believed to be serious.

A police spokeswoman said: “Officers were called at 2.10pm to the A9 northbound. It is a two-vehicle collision involving a lorry and a Fiat.

“One lane is blocked as a result. The ambulance service were called. There is not believed to be any serious injuries.

“The driver of the Fiat was taken to hospital as a precaution.”

Traffic Scotland posted: “Lane one of the A9 northbound near to its junction with the A820 is currently closed due to a road traffic incident.

“Motorists are advised to use caution on approach and allow extra time for their journey.”
