A drink-driver crashed into parked cars in a residential Perthshire street, a court was told.

Sally King smashed into one car in Blackford before driving off and hitting several others on July 7.

Police officers later found her to be more than four times the legal drink-drive limit.

Depute fiscal Michael Sweeney told Perth Sheriff Court that at around 10.30pm a witness heard a loud bang while she was in her home.

“She left the house and saw the accused had collided with a parked vehicle and there was extensive damage to that vehicle.

“The accused had been travelling northbound and had drifted on to the southbound side of the road before colliding with the parked car.”

The depute fiscal said the witness saw the accused “reverse her car from the accident and continue along the street.

“She then heard a further number of bangs as the accused collided with other vehicles and contacted the police.

“Other witnesses also heard the bangs and investigated what was going on.”

Police attended and took King to hospital for injuries to her face and arm.

Solicitor Pauline Cullerton said that King accepted responsibility for her actions.

King, of Bogside, Dunblane, admitted driving on Stirling Street, Blackford, with 96mic of alcohol in her breath. The legal limit is 22.

She further admitted failing to stop after an accident and to possession of cannabis at Perth police station.

Sentence was deferred and King, 43, was disqualified from driving in the interim.
