Blairgowrie and Rattray Highland Games at Bogle’s Field on Sunday were hit by a couple of heavy rain showers which caused the curtailment of some events.
The lifting of the nine Ardblair Stones, usually held throughout the day, was stopped in early afternoon.
The Highland dancing classes were moved to Rattray Hall.
Heavyweight, running, cycling, and tug o’ war competitions went ahead as planned.
A highlight of the heavyweight events was a new record for the weight over the bar by Vlad Tulacek. The competition closed at 15ft but it was agreed that Vlad could make an extra attempt on the ground record and set a new one at 16 ft 1in.
Rules for the caber event had to be changed when Pete Hart broke the bigger caber. Contestants were judged on how far the caber travelled from a fixed block, as opposed to the clock style.
The opening parade was led into the ring by the combined bands of Blairgowrie, Rattray and District Pipe Band and Coupar Angus Pipe Band.
They were followed by the games chieftain, Laurence Blair Oliphant, the Ardblair Highlanders, and games officials.
Blairgowrie and Rattray Marching Band also played during the afternoon.
