Yellow weather warnings were in place on Tuesday as gusts of up to 60mph, rain and snow battered the region. A series of power cuts were reported across the region with trees blown down and damage caused to several buildings. There was also “gridlock” in Dundee city centre after the closure of East Dock Street, due to panels falling from the Holiday Inn Express Hotel. Repairs taking place on panels that fell off the Holiday Inn Express hotel during Storm Barra. Transport problems persisted into Wednesday but had largely cleared by the time the morning rush hour ended.
