Paranormalists are seeking to invoke the spirits as the city’s annual festival dedicated to the spooky and unexplained reappears.
The double-weekender features a Spiritual Fayre, which offers a variety of talks, stalls and demonstrations. The spectre of a well-known ghost reputedly haunts a room at the Fayre’s venue (the Salutation Hotel) and guests are being granted access for the day.
“The Project Paranormal team are bringing along Elizabeth, a doll who seems to make her presence felt,” said the organisers. “People have even reported being scratched when around her.”
Cosplayers will be in their element at the Mercure City Mills’ Vampire and Faerie Ball, where attendees are invited to present themselves in their best horrorshow garb for a costume competition.
Paranormal investigator Barry Fitzgerald of Sky TV’s Ghost Hunters International will also be filming an episode of his new show at the former mills, hoping to capture events out of the ordinary at a site the hosts believe is rife with spooky reports.
An Evening With Dominic Boag commences the programme at the Fourty Four Lounge on Thursday (October 6).
“Whisper to your loved ones for Dominic to bring forth messages of love and support,” reads a note from the self-styled psychic medium. Cynics beware.
