Hundreds of youngsters and their families enjoyed fun in the sun as Perth staged its ActiviTay Weekend.
The city’s North Inch was the venue for most of the action where children were able to try their hands at a range of sports and activities.
Saturday morning saw visitors challenged to take on the Ultm8 Warrior assault course, battling obstacles including hurdles, net crawls, ramps and balance beams.
Elsewhere, the Perth Shotokan Karate Academy invited a steady stream of tiny terrors to try out their martial arts skills.
One after the other they stepped up to test the pads worn by instructors – and British squad members – Mark Lewis and Stevie Lamb with a succession of precision kicks and punches.
They were hoping to attract a new generation of youngsters to the club which already boasts three junior British team members in Kieran and Kyle Lamb and Hussmain Shah.
Also being cheered on in their exertions were the brave youngsters with a head for heights who took on the army’s climbing wall.
From handhold to foothold they made their way up the testing tower before abseiling back down in triumph.
The Royal Regiment of Scotland was much in evidence at the event, manning a range of stalls and their own inflatable assault course and showing off some army kit, including a field ambulance.
Table tennis and circus skills also proved hugely popular with those who made their way to the park to make the most of the fine weather.
There were also taster sessions for rugby, with the Rugby Nippers Extravaganza for ages three to five.
Away from the North Inch, there were mountain-biking taster sessions on the easy-going trails on Kinnoull Hill, together with the return of the Perth Continental Market.
The ActiviTay weekend was the latest in a series of top summer events organised by Perth and Kinross Council and its partners.
Last month’s Boating on the Tay event was also a huge hit, converting part of Tay Street into a colourful beach and offering boat trips on the river.
