Competitors take to the stage for Perform in Perth festival

The second day of the Perform in Perth festival was dedicated to the spoken word.

Competitors took to the stage of the Soutar Theatre in the AK Bell Library on Wednesday for verse speaking, prepared readings, public speaking, dramatic solos and Bible and Shakespeare readings.

Other classes were given over to poetry with works by Robert Burns and Perth poet William Soutar performed.

On Thursday the musical side of the festival gets under way with drum, xylophone and timpani  classes. The venue for these classes is again the Soutar Theatre.

Over the next two weeks around 3,800 competitors will part in the festival.
