VIDEO: Watch bride and groom dance in joy inside inflatable chapel at Rewind Festival’s first wedding

An eighties-mad couple has tied the knot on the first night of Rewind Scotland.

Donna McCallum and Giuseppe “Joe” Milligan performed their nuptials in an inflatable chapel in the grounds of Scone Palace.

Although the pop-up church has hosted many fake weddings over the year, this is the first official, legally-binding marriage in the festival’s 10-year history.

Bride Donna McCallum and groom Giuseppe ‘Joe’ Milligan after the ceremony.

The couple, from Ardrossan, met six years ago and have been going to Rewind each year for the last three years.

They decided to have their big day at the festival so that they could be surrounded by the friends they have made at Rewind over the years.

An entourage of 15 family members and close friends were invited to join the couple at the Friday evening ceremony. They were cheered on by scores of well-wishers, their extended Rewind Family.

The pair were led into the chapel by a piper, while many guests dressed in tartan.

Event organiser Katt Lingard said the wedding was testament to the strong-bonds and friendships that fans make at Rewind.

“The community that our audience creates at the festival is fantastic,” she said.

“People come in big groups and come to Rewind to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, retirements and even in this case a wedding.

“It goes to show the diversity of the audience. The way people get together and make friends and form a community is amazing. You can see that with the Facebook groups and the spin-off events that members have, which sort of keeps Rewind going all year round.”
