Pantomime season has started in Perthshire. Oh yes it has!
Festive productions at both Perth and Pitlochry Festival theatres launch this weekend and The Courier had a sneak peek.
In the Fair City, Snow White enlists the help of Seven Dames to help her defeat her stepmother and regain the kingdom.
Meanwhile in Highland Perthshire, Dorothy and Toto find themselves on the stage of Pitlochry Festival Theatre for their musical performance of The Wizard of Oz, which launches on Friday.
The panto comes in a fantastic week for Pitlochry Festival Theatre, which was earmarked for £10 million of a £37 million tourism fund from the Tay Cities Deal.
Perthshire Chamber of Commerce also recently gave the theatre an excellence in tourism and leisure award.
Perth Theatre’s panto launches on Saturday and will run until Saturday January 5.

Mike Griffiths, interim chief executive of Horsecross Arts, the creative organisation and charity behind Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre, said: “Panto is synonymous with Christmas in Perth – it is fun for all ages and opens up the exciting world of live performance to many for the first time.
“It showcases our lovely Edwardian theatre and the excellent work that our fantastic team creates for each new show.
“It is the theatrical highlight of our year.
“As a charity, we rely heavily on funding, sponsorship and donations to allow us to keep producing shows that audiences love. In return for their support, our sponsors get to be involved with one of the best pantos in the land.”
