Horsecross unveils this season’s schedule with new brochure launch

The Spring/Summer season schedule at Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre has been announced.

Dance duo Danielle Tyrer and Siobhan Marshall struck a pose with the new brochure, which was launched on Tuesday.

The pair will perform as part of Perth Dance Festival in Perth Concert Hall and Perth Theatre in May, which is now expanded to include Screen.Dance, Scotland’s three-day festival of dance on screen, starting on May 6.

Perth Dance Festival is the first event in a busy season of dance, but there is plenty of music, drama, comedy and other events taking place at the venues.

Those with tickets to the sold out performance of Here Come the Boys can expect ballroom battles on June 21 in Perth Concert Hall.

Perth Theatre’s production of Morna Young’s fishing drama Lost at Sea has its world premiere on Thursday, April 25, running until Saturday, May 4, before touring around the country.

Scots comedian Leah MacRae delves into the pages of My Big Fat Fabulous Diary in Perth Theatre on June 2, and top TV stand-up Jimmy Carr brings his new Terribly Funny show to Perth Concert Hall in September.

There is also a packed schedule of live music, with Birmingham’s world-famous reggae stars UB40 getting the music season off on a celebratory note in a 40th Anniversary gig in Perth Concert Hall on May 1.

The Monday Night Thing in Perth Theatre’s Joan Knight Studio continues with performances by Lucy Spraggan on Monday, May 6, and Fergus McCreadie Trio on Monday, May 13.

This will be followed by a performance from indie rockers Ocean Colour Scene at the Concert Hall on July 31.

May’s Perth Festival of the Arts combines global names such as Jools Holland, English Touring Opera and a sold out performance from Lewis Capaldi with performances from top home-grown Scottish talent such as Vistas and Be Charlotte, as well as family shows, exhibitions and much more.

Meanwhile, Perth Theatre’s wardrobe department is set to open its doors for three sewing workshops with resident costume makers this summer.

An Introduction to Curtain Making on Wednesday, July 3, Basic Sewing Skills from July 4 to 6 and Corsetry from 11 to 13 will all help improve the skills of keen Perthshire tailors.
