VIDEO: Bunjee-jump proves that Perthshire village is anything but Dull

Three Dull residents experienced a change of pace when they got the trip of a lifetime to Singapore.

Blair Girvan, Peter Hoyer and Jonathan Wilson, all hail from the Perthshire village which shot to fame when its amusing moniker saw it linked with the towns Boring in the USA and Bland in Australia.

Pictured (from second left) are Dull residents Blair Girvan, Peter Hoyer and Johnathan Wilson.

They were transported to the Far East courtesy of the Singapore Airlines, in partnership with Singapore Tourism Board (STB),  as part of the ‘Unexpected Journeys’ campaign and their far-from-dull adventure is captured in a new promotional film.

In the three-film series, Singaporean comedian and actor Rishi Budhrani travels to the town of Dull, as well as Bland in Australia and Boring in the USA for an unconventional holiday.

He was hosted by the Dull friends while in Scotland, a family of six in Bland and a fellow comedian in Boring.

In one of the clips, Rishi bunjee-jumps from a bridge close to Dull. Footage is above this story.

In returning the favour, he hosted the three groups in Singapore.

As part of their visit, the Dull lads experienced a range of activities including Singaporean wrestling, shopping, street food and nightlife.

The series also shows the travellers as they venture into the lesser known side of the country.

Assistant Chief Executive of Singapore Tourism Board’s Marketing Group, Lynette Pang said: “The Unexpected Journeys campaign tells the Singapore Story to global audiences in a refreshing and light-hearted manner.

“Working with local comedian, Rishi Budhrani, we shine the spotlight on Singapore’s lesser-known talents, businesses and authentic local experiences.

“Through the campaign’s bold and creative format, we invite viewers to take a sneak preview into the unexpected aspects of Singapore life through a series of three short and fun films.”

It is not the first time Dull has attracted corporate attention because of its tedious sounding name.

In 2017, car giant Jaguar filmed a glossy advert in Dull, celebrating its link with Boring, USA.
