A man was airlifted to hospital after a serious industrial accident at a supermarket store in Perth which saw police officers shut down a main route through the city.
Emergency services, including the air ambulance, closed down Main Street in Bridgend following the incident in which an engineer is believed to have been seriously injured while attending to a lift at the Co-op.
The accident happened at around 7.30am on Friday with witnesses saying they believed the casualty was injured towards the rear of the store.
The man was taken by air ambulance to Ninewells Hospital in Dundee and there was update on his status on Friday night.
Multiple sources told The Courier no customers or shop employees were hurt in the incident.

The road was closed down by the emergency services during the busy morning rush hour as firefighters and the ambulance service attended to the stricken man.
One witness said: “I first saw them about 7.30am. The fire engines and the police started shooting through.
“They came over the bridge and pulled up outside the Co-op and then the air ambulance arrived.
“There will have been staff inside the shop because it opens around 6am and they do baking and that in there.
“I haven’t seen anyone going in or out since they arrived and they shut down the road just after 8am.”
The road was reopened by 11am but shaken looking Co-op staff could be seen within the shop, which remained taped off by police.
On Friday afternoon a spokesperson the Co-op said: “Sadly, there has been an industrial accident at our Bridgend, Perth, store.
“Emergency services are on scene and the store remains closed.”
Police Scotland confirmed that the injured male had been rushed to hospital following the workplace incident.
A spokesperson said: “A man has been taken to hospital.
“Inquiries are ongoing and the Health and Safety Executive have been informed.”
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “We were alerted at 7.38am on Friday, October 11, to reports of a casualty at a business premise in Main Street, Perth.
“Firefighters assisted in transferring the casualty to paramedics and have now left the scene.”
