A former Scottish Conservative who worked for Mid Scotland and Fife MSP Liz Smith has been charged for allegedly stalking a politician.
Chris Land, 33, appeared earlier this month at Edinburgh Sheriff Court accused of stalking, having appeared on petition.
His case was continued for further examination and Land was granted bail.
Land, of Edinburgh, had worked for Ms Smith as a researcher. He no longer works in the Scottish Parliament.
As reported in The Times, Land unsuccessfully stood as a Tory candidate in Glasgow North West in the snap election of 2017.
A spokesperson for the Scottish Conservatives said they would not be commenting on the matter.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed Land had been due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court on September 12.
