No new coronavirus cases recorded in Fife in past 24 hours as figure rises by eight in Tayside

There have been no new cases of coronavirus recorded in Fife in the past day – with a further eight recorded in neighbouring Tayside.

According to new statistics from the Scottish Government a total of 813 people have tested positive for Covid-19 in the kingdom since the outbreak began, a figure which is unchanged from Monday.

In Tayside the number of people who have tested positive for the virus from Monday into Tuesday has risen by eight from 1497 to 1505.

However the number of patients in Tayside hospitals battling confirmed cases of Covid-19 has dropped from 37 to 29 in the past day. In Fife this number has risen by one from 80 to 81.

Across Scotland as a whole a total of 136 new coronavirus cases were recorded from Monday into Tuesday, bringing the total number since the outbreak began to 13,763.

However another 50 deaths have been registered, taking the Scottish total to 1,912.

Tayside was one of five health boards in Scotland to record no new Covid-19 cases from Sunday into Monday.
