Fife has recorded a coronavirus death for the first time since June as 13 more people succumbed to the disease across Scotland.
The fatality in the kingdom comes in a week where there were two tragedies linked to Covid-19 in Tayside.
It is the first death in Fife linked to the virus since June 22.
The fatality – which was recorded by Health Protection Scotland (HPS) – was only registered in the past day, but is believed to have happened on Friday, October 9.
A total of 1,351 people tested positive for the disease from Wednesday into Thursday, 104 of them across Tayside and Fife.
Of this number: 32 were in the kingdom, 54 in Dundee, 12 in Angus, and six across Perth and Kinross.

The number of people who have died after testing positive for the virus in Scotland has now risen to 2,585.
However the latest National Records of Scotland data shows that Covid-19 has been mentioned on the death certificates of a total of 4,301 people in Scotland since the start of the outbreak.

A total of 44,036 people have now tested positive for Covid-19 in Scotland.
There are currently 601 people in hospital battling the virus. Of this number, 51 are in intensive care.
