Conservative leadership hopeful Jeremy Hunt helicoptered in to Perth’s South Inch park before hosting an event for party members.
He was met with questions about anti-Brexit protests, including a PR stunt from a Perth restaurant which is giving away free milkshakes to keep anti-Brexit protesters “refreshed.”
He told reporters: “I quite like milkshakes with a burger and so do my kids but they should be consumed and not used as projectiles.”
Jeremy Hunt and Boris Johnson will appear in front of Conservative party members for an election hustings in the city later this evening.
The underdog in the race for number 10 was met by Berwickshire, Roxburgh and Selkirk MP John Lamont before the meet and greet in the Fair City’s Royal George Hotel.
Three protesters briefly unfurled a banner stating ‘End London Rule’ and hung it from Perth bridge, but they left shortly after Mr Hunt arrived.
After meeting the leadership hopeful, party members said they were still “genuinely undecided” about who was the best man to become the Prime Minister.
