A Trip Back in Time: Remembrance Day

Today is Remembrance Sunday – a day when the nation unites to honour those who made the ultimate sacrifice.

But while the Covid-19 pandemic means parades and services have to be scaled back significantly, the thoughts and prayers of people across Tayside and Fife will still be with those who lost their lives during war.

Join us as we look back at how our communities marked Remembrance Sunday via a selection of photographs picked from DC Thomson’s archives.


DUNDEE

In the first image, from 1988, Dundee High School Head Girl Jocelyn Davies and Head Boy Christopher Vardy pay their respects to the war dead at the school’s Remembrance Day service.
