The school will disappear from the education scene at the end of term.
It will be knocked down before the opening of Greenfield Academy.
The new £100m campus is a merger between Braeview and Craigie High School.
Braeview Academy is no stranger to mergers.
Pupils of the old Whitfield and Linlathen High Schools tied the knot to mark their union on the first day of term in August 1996 and became Braeview Academy.
Before the old school meets the wrecking ball, we have taken a trip down memory lane to celebrate the lasting memories made at Braeview Academy.
Poster competition
Robbie Dillon won a poster competition run by Bank of Scotland in April 1999.
The competition was to encourage young savers.
Learning Game
First year pupils were given a demonstration of the “benefits of positive thinking” when The Learning Game visited the school in May 1999.
Derek Walker hosted the session.
Point Break
Boy band Point Break visited Braeview Academy in June 1999.
Point Break – made up of Declan Bennett, Brett Adams and David Oliver – split in 2000 after five UK singles including Stand Tough, which hit the Top 10.
Hospitality training
Fifth year pupils were given hospitality training in June 1999.
It was delivered by Karen Donaldson from Dundee College.
Lunch break
A busy dining room in April 2000.
Pupils were given a choice of both sit-in and takeaway menus with healthy options alongside old favourites like chips, burgers and sausages.

Discovery Café
The Discovery Café introduced healthy options in September 2000.
Laura Dewar, Alison Clark and Louise Airlie tried one of the new meals.
Book characters
First year pupils dressed up as their favourite book characters in December 2000.
Raymond Nelson, who was William from Goodnight Mr Tom, won the £20 first prize.
Gymnastics team
A team of girls won a gymnastics competition at the Lynch Centre.
They won a silver cup for their floor sequence in May 2001.
Fire visit
A visit to Tayside Fire Brigade control room in Dundee in November 2001.
The pupils were given a tour.
Careers convention
The school hosted a careers convention in February 2002.
Employment support firm Claverhouse was among those on hand.
Barry Buddon
Training in character building at Barry Buddon in August 2003.
The pupils tackled a variety of tasks.
School badge
First-year pupil Nicole McLeod designed a new school badge in a competition.
Education convener Fraser Macpherson and council leader Jill Shimi presented Nicole with a prize in February 2004.
Arts Festival
The Dundee Schools Arts Festival took place in March 2004.
The Braeview team won silver in the gymnastics sequence (secondary).

Tree of knowledge
First year pupils took part in a confidence-boosting workshop in September 2004.
It was hosted by Dunfermline-based Tree of Knowledge.
New head teacher
Brenda Hadcroft became the new head teacher in 2005.
She was pictured with school captains Laura Connelly and Gregor Murray.
Comic Relief
Fifth and sixth year pupils held a sponsored car wash in March 2005.
They charged £2 a vehicle for Comic Relief.
Glenshee
Pupils visited the slopes of Glenshee in March 2006.
The party are pictured leaving from Ancrum Outdoor Education Centre.
Christmas cheer
S5/6 choir and wind ensemble entertained at Ballumbie Court care home.
They performed in December 2006.
Sponsored walk
Pupils took part in a sponsored walk across the Tay Bridge in March 2007.
They raised £300 for the Maggie’s Centre.
Good report
In 2004 the schools inspectors delivered a poor report for Braeview Academy.
In April 2008 it was all change and the school was described by inspectors as having been “transformed by the hard work of staff and pupils”.
McIntosh Patrick
Sarah Finnegan won first prize at the McIntosh Patrick School Awards in August 2008 for her self-portrait in charcoal and pencil.
She was awarded £100 and a McIntosh Patrick framed print by the late Dundee artist’s daughter Ann Patrick.
Talent show
A talent show was held in October 2008.
Participants entertained the audience and judges.
Football stars
The girls football team in February 2009.
They represented the school in the Coca-Cola Sevens qualifiers.
Catwalk success
A Recycle and Fairtrade fashion show in February 2010.
The event featured creations made from eco-friendly materials.

A winning line-up in June 2010.

The inspectors published another good report in February 2012.

Abertay University
Pupils show off certificates in April 2013.
A three-month mentoring scheme run by Abertay University gave them a chance to develop their skills in independent study and team working.
Dinner dance
Pupils in kilts at the sixth year dinner dance in August 2015.
It took place at the West Park Conference Centre.
Anne Frank
Braeview hosted an Anne Frank exhibition in June 2016.
Pupils from feeder primary Ballumbie were given a guided tour of the secondary school.
Ryze
A fire in September 2018 displaced pupils for 14 weeks.
Several activities were put on during their time off including a trip to Ryze Dundee.
Enterprising pupils
A production company was set up by sixth year pupils in 2018.
Directors Andromeda Gibb, Hannah Gillespie and Kayleigh Colgan had all taken part in various creative projects and youth groups.
Drama cast
Pupil actors wrote an educational film based on real-life events in June 2019.
It was shown at primary schools across Dundee.
Polar Academy
Braeview was chosen for Polar Academy 2024.
The life-changing scheme saw a group of pupils trek through Arctic Greenland.
