Arbroath’s Gayfield Park has been transformed over the summer.

While Dick Campbell has been hard at work improving his side on the park, club chiefs have overseen a dramatic upgrade to the facilities on their home turf.

A six-figure sum has been shelled out on renovation works to polish up the stadium and improve fans’ matchday experience.

Striking new entrance

The first and most striking upgrade is the entrance. Work began at the end of last season to tear down the historic, but garish, white wall.

That has been replaced by a more attractive-looking office made with red sandstone, which is synonymous with the Angus town.

New modern turnstiles have been installed with scanners set to be added in the near future.

In the main stand, now renamed the CoelBrew Stand, new seats have been added.

Some work is still on going and the club have listened to fans’ concerns over the lack of toilets so more facilities will be added around the ground.

At pitch-side, players and management will also feel the benefit of new dugouts and padded benches.

A new energy-efficient lighting system has been installed so the ground meets top-flight standards.

Hospitality upgrades

The biggest new facilities enhancement is the club’s new Redcastle Suite.

The club has teamed up with the local gin firm who have sponsored the new hospitality area. A new modern maroon-coloured bar has been installed with a variety of Redcastle drinks on offer.

Arbroath can now host up to 170 people for match day hospitality, which is a massive income driver for the club.

In fact, some hospitality offerings are booked out well in advance.

And they are also seeing bookings for the suites away from match days with people seeking to host functions at Gayfield.
