Out-of-contract Raith Rovers defender Liam Dick has joined Ayr United.
The 29-year-old has penned a two-year deal with the Somerset Park side after four years with Raith.
The versatile left-back made 163 appearances for the Stark’s Park side after joining in 2021.
However, with Barry Robson now Dick’s fourth manager in as many seasons, he has departed for a new challenge with the Honest Men.
Dick was said to still be ‘in discussion’ with Raith after the expiry of his contract following the end of last term.
However, no agreement was forthcoming and he has opted to move on.
After signing 12-month extensions in each of the two summers, he will welcome the greater security on offer in Ayrshire.
A statement from Ayr said: “The latest Dick to join the Honest Men.
Ayr delighted to sign Dick
“The club are delighted to announce the signing of defender, Liam Dick, subject to SFA approval.
“The 29-year-old joins on a two-year deal following his departure from Raith Rovers.”
Dick started his senior career at Falkirk before stints with Stranraer, Dumbarton and Alloa Athletic.
But his most consistent spell came at Raith, where he won the SPFL Trust Trophy in 2022 and was a key member of the side that pushed hard for promotion to the Premiership last year.
