Freed Raith Rovers defender Euan Murray has joined Championship rivals Queen’s Park.
The 31-year-old has penned a deal with the Spiders after his second stint at Stark’s Park came to an end this summer.
The Kilmarnock and Motherwell stopper will be reunited with Rovers team-mate Aidan Connolly with the Glasgow outfit.
Murray returned to Raith in 2023 after a previous two-year spell at the club came to an end with a controversial move to rivals Dunfermline in 2019.
He went on to make 61 appearances for the Kirkcaldy side in the last two seasons, having turned out 92 times in his last stint.
However, with his contract expiring at the end of the campaign, he was deemed surplus to requirements by manager Barry Robson and released.
He played in just six of the 18 league games Robson took charge of.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining Queen’s Park,” said Murray.
“Coming to the end of my deal at Raith Rovers there were some things in the background. But when I had a conversation with the head coach here, it was the one that grabbed me – everything from that first phone call.
Murray: ‘So much to like’
“It has taken a little bit of time to get it over the line but now I’m over the moon and really excited.
“There’s so much to like about this place.”
Murray won the Championship with Kilmarnock in 2022 and was a key part of the Raith team that pushed Dundee United all the way last year.
He is the 11th player, including Connolly, to agree a deal with Queen’s Park so far this summer and has already taken part in pre-season training with Sean Crighton’s side.
“The first sessions have been tough but that’s to be expected,” he told the Queen’s Park website.
“It’s brilliant to be amongst the group – it’s a young group and that brings its own energy, and brings it back out in me again too.
“It’s a fresh challenge and I’m looking forward to working with these younger lads, trying to improve them while winning games in the Championship alongside good experienced players.
“It was just too good to turn down.”
