Departed Cove Rangers keeper Balint Demus is expected to be given a third friendly outing this week in his bid to win a move to Dunfermline.
The 23-year-old spent six years with Cove after coming through the ranks there.
However, he rejected the offer of a new deal this summer in favour of trying his luck elsewhere.
The Hungary-born shot-stopper made 34 first-team appearances for the Aberdeen side, including 17 last term.
One of those games was Cove Rangers‘Â 2-1 victory over Dunfermline at East End Park in the Premier Sports Cup group stage last July.
With loans under his belt from spells in the Highland League with Formartine United, Keith and Buckie Thistle, Demus had to play second fiddle at Cove to Nick Suman, who joined Aberdeen during the close-season.
Demus travelled with Dunfermline for last week’s warm-weather training camp in Bulgaria, during which he played 45 minutes in the 1-1 draw with Slavia Sofia.
He was again given a half as the Pars went down to a 1-0 defeat against SPFL newcomers East Kilbride on Saturday.
And it is understood he could again be given game-time when Neil Lennon’s side take on Stirling Albion in a bounce game on Wednesday.
Could Demus fill Pars vacancy?
Dunfermline are on the hunt for another goalie to compete with the experienced Deniz Mehmet for the coming campaign.
Tobi Oluwayemi seized the gloves from Mehmet last season but he returned to Celtic when his loan expired last month.
Meanwhile, Dunfermline – who have been credited with an interest in freed Dundee United striker Louis Moult – are considering a move for ex-Celtic youngster Alasdair Davidson.
The 19-year-old defender has also featured as a trialist in the two friendlies against Slavia Sofia and East Kilbride.
He has been with the Pars since the start of pre-season training as he looks for a new club after being released by Celtic.
