Raith Rovers have sealed a move for Paul McMullan on a two-year deal.

The former Dundee and Dundee United winger has completed the switch after departing Derry City in the League of Ireland earlier this week.

The 29-year-old, who also had a loan spell at Dunfermline earlier in his career, joined Derry two years ago after leaving Dundee.

He had just won the Championship with the Dark Blues and also scooped the second-tier title with United in 2020.

A play-off success with Dundee in 2021 means the one-time Scotland U/21 internationalist has a hat-trick of promotions to the Premiership under his belt.

A club statement read: “Raith Rovers Football Club is delighted to announce the signing of experienced winger Paul McMullan on a two-year deal, joining us from League of Ireland side Derry City.

“The 29-year-old brings experience, pace, and creativity to the squad as we strengthen ahead of the new season.

“Paul arrives with an impressive CV, having won the Scottish Championship twice, once with Dundee United and again with city rivals Dundee, playing a pivotal role in both promotions.

McMullan a ‘perfect addition’ for Raith

“These qualities made him a perfect addition for the squad Barry Robson is building.”

He will add an extra option in attack for boss Robson in attack following the summer departures of Aidan Connolly and Jamie Gullan.

With strikers Jack Hamilton and Callum Smith also both on their way back from long-term injuries, McMullan will add some much-needed knowhow in the forward areas.

The ex-Celtic player joins Jai Rowe, Richard Chin, Aidan Glavin, Logan Raeside and Josh Rae in signing a deal with Raith so far this summer.

Rovers kick off their competitive action with a Premier Sports Cup opener away to Elgin City on July 12 before ties against East Kilbride, St Johnstone and Inverness Caley Thistle.
