Arbroath co-manager David Gold was honoured for 10 years of service to the Lichties – on the pitch and in the dugout – with a testimonial against Dundee United on Saturday.

Gold arrived at Gayfield in 2015, with his first game ironically coming in the Forfarshire Cup against Dundee United. He has gone on to make 333 competitive appearances for the club, notching 20 goals and 13 assists.

In that time, Gold played almost every position – including goalkeeper.

After stepping up to the role of joint boss alongside Colin Hamilton last season, they guided Arbroath to the League 1 title.

As part of his Gold & Gray Soccer Academy, the club legend also holds coaching sessions in the local community.

Amid a richly deserved bumper turnout for Gold and his family, Arbroath played out a 1-1 draw against the Tangerines, with Scott Stewart’s strike cancelling out a Bert Esselink opener.
