Arbroath boss Dick Campbell is determined there will be no triple whammy at Gayfield today as his team look to get back to winning ways against East Fife.
The table-topping Red Lichties suffered their second defeat in a row last weekend – the first time this has happened this season – against bottom side Stenhousemuir.
That defeat allied to Raith Rovers’ win over Airdrie meant the Angus side’s lead at the League 1 summit was cut to 12 points.
It is still a substantial advantage with just eight games of the season remaining but Campbell insists he is only focused on the game against East Fife and trying to pick up three points.
The veteran manager said: “Last week was extremely frustrating.
“We missed a penalty and then conceded a really poor goal just before half-time before Stenny sealed all three points with their second.
“I don’t want to make excuses but the terrible weather conditions in the last couple of weeks have done us few favours in terms of how we like to play but it is up to us to adapt.
“We have now lost two in a row but it is worth remembering how well we have done overall – the defeat at Dumbarton two weeks ago was the first time we had lost away in the league since last March.
“However, there is no escaping the fact that we have had two disappointing results and my coaching staff and the players are absolutely determined there will not be a third when we play East Fife.
“I have watched them the last two midweeks so we know what is ahead of us.
“We will have Michael McKenna and Omar Kader back so I have a full squad to choose from.”
