Dunfermline have sold defender Jackson Longridge to English League 2 side Bradford City.
The 24-year-old was snapped up by the Pars last summer, going on to make 41 appearances in the season just finished, scoring five goals.
The former Ayr United, Stranraer and Livingston player, who still had a year left on his deal with Dunfermline, had been attracting a lot of interest from elsewhere and a number of English clubs had made offers for him in recent weeks.
Now, though the Bantams have won the race for his signature with a mutual compensation arrangement agreed by both clubs.
East End Park boss Stevie Crawford said: “Jackson had a consistent season last year and he has attracted quite a bit of attention in the close season.
“We felt that we could not stand in his way to join a club the size of Bradford. It could kick-start his career by giving him the opportunity to go down and play in England.
“We wish Jackson all the best and now there is an opportunity for other players at the club.
“Lewis Martin has played that position for us for a number of years and it might be that is the opportunity now that allows Lewis to kick on and become a regular in the team.”
