Dundee may have suffered two emphatic defeats to Dundee United already this season.
But striker Kane Hemmings has insisted that there is no fear factor heading into the third city derby of the season.
“If we play well, we can beat any team,” said the Englishman.
“Just because they won the last two games doesn’t mean we are going to go down there and be in awe of them or fear them. No way.
“It is a derby and you take it as it comes. Anything can happen in these games.”
Hemmings confirmed that the two-goal defeat at Dens hurt more than the four-goal one at Tannadice.
“People I spoke to after the first game didn’t think it was a 6-2 game and I am the same,” he said.
“Fair play to them, they beat us by that scoreline and you can’t take that away from them.
“I think we were more disappointed with the game at Dens than the one down there.
“I don’t think we laid a glove on them here and that’s not like us.
“So like I said, we won’t fear them at all when we go down there.”
