Dundee boss Neil McCann is still deciding whether he’ll use the pre-season trip to Portugal to have an extended look at the three trialists he used in Monday night’s friendly win over Cowdenbeath.
Adil Nabi, Brian Nana-Sinkam and Frank Jones were all given run-outs in the 1-0 win at Central Park.
Now the Dark Blues are off to the Algarve to complete their pre-season build up at a training camp near Albufeira and in games against Mansfield Town on Saturday evening and local outfit SC Farense on Tuesday night next week.
And Peterborough attacker Nabi, Seattle Sounder Nana-Sinkam and teenager Jones could all be in the travelling party.
Twenty-four-year-old Nabi, in particular, looks likely to get the nod.
“He’s got terrific ability, I think that’s definitely obvious. He maybe needs a wee bit of conditioning but I’ll have a look at him,” said Neil.
“I haven’t made my mind up yet about taking them all to Portugal but I’ll have a think about it and decide who’s going with us.”
After drawing in the opening friendly at Brechin on Friday night, the gaffer was delighted to see his team chalk up their first victory of the build up.
Again, though, most important was the fact most of his squad got another run out.
“The most pleasing thing to me is the conditioning because the boys got a good run around and the fact we’ve come through it unscathed because it was a difficult surface and quite a physical game,” he added.
“It was good for the boys who are just coming into the side and are finding out what Scottish football is all about.
“And young Matty gets a great finish. It was a typical Matty goal.”
