Inverness will face a different Dundee to the one they rolled over in September, says Scott Bain

Scott Bain has warned Inverness Caledonian Thistle that they will be facing a different Dundee team to the one that was rolled over in the Highlands back in September.

Caley Thistle cruised to a 3-1 win on that occasion, the second game in what turned into a six-match losing streak for the Dark Blues.

But two victories and an injury-time defeat to Rangers have suggested that a corner has been turned for Paul Hartley’s men.

Bain, who was back in goals for the last of those three fixtures, said: “I think it will be a different game from when we last played them.

“The boys are going into games much more determined now.

“The first thought after the disappointment of the Rangers result was, who have we got next week and how are we going to put in a performance like that at home?”

He added: “We haven’t done enough at home and that has probably carried over from last season too.

“We had a good result against Motherwell and we need to keep that going. Hopefully that result will kick our home form on.”

While Bain was out of the team, stand-in keeper David Mitchell kept two clean sheets which led to two Dundee wins.

And the Scotland squad man admitted: “Mitch did really well when he came in and never put a foot wrong.

“It’s good to have competition at the club in all positions, so it can only be good for me.

“I’m always trying to improve my game but even more so when there is someone who has done well and wants your place in the tea.

“It spurs you on a wee bit more and you know you can’t let your guard down.”
