I can totally understand why Dundee fans are nervous right now.
Pre-season is under way, the first friendly of the summer is coming up this weekend yet the squad looks nowhere near ready for the start of the campaign.
There is a huge amount of work to be done.
Part of that, though, is assessing what is already there. Steven Pressley has only worked with the existing squad for a few days – he needs time to figure out what he’s already got in the building and what he needs to add.

It’s a tough start for him. The Premiership fixtures have also landed him a tough start when the action gets properly under way.
Early pressure
This weekend is key, though.
Normally absolutely nothing rides on the first friendly of the summer. However, the way Pressley’s arrival was greeted by fans means there will be pressure at Arbroath on Saturday.
Don’t forget the Red Lichties will want to take a top-flight scalp.

The Dundee boss will never say publicly but I think deep down he will be desperate to get started with a win and a performance.
Fans want to see something has changed for the better when a new boss comes in.
It may only be a friendly but pressure is on already.
