Josh Mulligan’s 14-year spell at Dundee is over after he joined fellow Premiership side Hibernian.
The 22-year-old Dundonian joined the club at the age of eight and went gone on to make 123 first-team appearances for the club he supports.
His contract at Dens Park had expired, however, and he was free to speak to other clubs.
Dundee had offered the versatile midfielder an improved deal but that has been knocked back in favour of a move to the capital.
Mulligan has penned four-year deal in the capital.
Due to Dundee’s contract offer and Mulligan being under the age of 23, Hibs are required to pay compensation. The amount is yet to be decided.
What has been decided is Mulligan will turn out in the green of Hibs next season and could make his league debut at Dens Park.
The two sides meet at Mulligan’s old stomping ground on August 3, the first day of the Premiership season.
Hibs boss David Gray told Hibs’ official website: “Josh was one of the most eye-catching young players in the Scottish Premiership last season and has a lot of the attributes and characteristics we look for in our squad.
“He’s a young player that’s eager to progress and develop, and gives us extra options with his versatility as he is comfortable as a central midfielder or at right wing-back.”
