Former Dundee star Leigh Griffiths is on the move.
The ex-Scotland frontman has spent the last three years in Australia with third-tier side Mandurah City following his departure from Scottish football.
That followed his second spell at Dens Park that came a decade after his goal-laden couple of seasons between 2009 and 2011.
The loan spell from champions Celtic in 2021 proved less successful with two goals scored in 15 appearances and was overshadowed by an incident where he kicked a smoke bomb into a crowd of St Johnstone supporters.
An underwhelming move to Falkirk followed before Griffiths went Down Under.
After three years with semi-pro Mandurah City where the striker stepped into a player-coach role, Griffiths has moved to another Aussie outfit nearby.
Moving up a level, the 34-year-old has signed for Perth side Stirling Macedonia Lions.
The Macies play in the second tier National Premier Leagues West division. They finished fourth last season but were beaten in the grand final of the playoffs.
Football Operations Manager, Keegan Ashley said: “What a pleasure it is to have someone of Leigh’s experience join us at Stirling Macedonia.
“He brings genuine quality in the attacking third and will have a big impact not only on the pitch but off it as well—helping guide and mentor our younger players as they develop their game.”
Griffiths made his debut from the bench in Friday’s 2-2 league draw with Perth Soccer Club, being denied by the goalkeeper twice late on. Stirling Macedonia lie eighth in the table.
