Departed Dundee defender Antonio Portales is a wanted man this summer after drawing interest from a number of European sides.
And he could line up against Rangers in Champions League qualifying with Greek side Panathinaikos among his admirers.
The 29-year-old Mexican stopper left in the summer after two years with the Dens Park club.
He wants to remain in European football after his stint on Tayside and has options to resume his career there.
Rangers face the Greek side in the second qualifying round of the Champions League later this month, with the second leg in Athens.

And reports in Mexico have suggested Panathinaikos are leading the chase to sign Portales, although they face competition from Metz in France as well as Turkish clubs Goztepe and Kocaelispor.
Portales made 55 appearances in total for Dundee since joining from Mexico City club Atlante and chipped in with six goals.
And he could be set to resume his career with a dream move to a club who have ambitions of getting into the league phase of the Champions League – if they can defeat Rangers.
