Lawrence Shankland is poised to make it a magnificent seven for Dundee United in the final Ladbrokes Championship team of the season.
Tangerines’ trio Paul McMullan, Calum Butcher and Ian Harkes all topped the ballot to nominate the second tier’s top midfielders over the 2019-20 campaign.

They joined defensive duo Liam Smith and Mark Reynolds, while goalkeeper Benjamin Siegrist kicked it all off by being voted the division’s number one number one.
With goal machine Shankland certain to be backed in the strikers’ poll, the final selection will have a decidedly tangerine tinge to it.
Arbroath centre-back Thomas O’Brien, Ayr defender Sam Roscoe and Inverness midfielder make up the rest of the side.
Shankland’s likely fellow frontman winner is Dunfermline’s Kevin Nisbet, for whom the Tangerines have made a bid, and the voting closes at noon tomorrow.
