Jamie McGrath is one of new Dundee United manager Jack Ross’s top summer transfer targets, Courier Sport understands.
Ross tried to sign the Irish midfielder from St Mirren when he was Hibs boss.
And McGrath was actually on the verge of moving to Easter Road last year, only for the deal to collapse when paperwork wasn’t completed in time on deadline day.
By the time the January transfer window opened, Ross had been sacked by Hibs and the 25-year-old was sold to Wigan Athletic.

McGrath has only made three starts for the Latics, though.
And given they will be playing their football in the Championship after securing promotion from League One, he would have a big job in front of him to become a first team regular in 2022/23.
If, as expected, Wigan do make McGrath available for a loan or permanent return to the Scottish Premiership, United can expect to face competition from Aberdeen.
Jim Goodwin was his manager at St Mirren and is almost certain to throw his hat into the ring.
How does Jack Ross’ Hibs reign compare to Dundee United under Micky Mellon and Tam Courts?
