Dundee United are weighing up a move for Hibernian striker Christian Doidge.
Jack Ross worked with the towering Welshman at Easter Road, with Doidge notching an impressive 28 goals and seven assists in 79 outings under his stewardship.
The 29-year-old endured a maddening campaign last term, with a serious Achilles injury restricting him to just seven starts.
And it is understood that Hibs could be willing to listen to offers for Doidge as new boss Lee Johnson seeks to put his own stamp on the group.
Courier Sport has learned that Doidge is among Ross’ prime targets to bolster United’s attacking pool — albeit formal negotiations are yet to begin.

Doidge is contracted to the capital club until the summer of 2024.
The Tangerines have been searching for an effective, physically imposing striker for some time, with Max Biamou failing to fulfil that brief last term.
However, a fully fit Doidge has proved adept in that role and it is believed that he could be the perfect foil for the likes of Tony Watt — just as he was for Martin Boyle and Kevin Nisbet with the Hibees.
Prior to joining Hibs in 2019, Doidge was a prolific marksman in the English lower leagues.
He rippled the net 66 times over two spells with Forest Green Rovers and enjoyed stints at Bolton and Dagenham and Redbridge.

Courier Sport revealed that United are also interested in Wigan Athletic midfielder Jamie McGrath, albeit they are likely to face stiff competition from Aberdeen for his signature.
Addressing the recruitment drive ahead for United this summer, Ross said: “There’s actually more needing done than I thought would be the case, from afar.
“That’s down to the player turnover and the fact quite a few players carried a heavy load last season. We need to help them out and share the load.
“We want strong signings so people realise we’re serious.”
