Dundee United hope to complete the signing of central defender Paul Quinn today.
The former Ross County captain is expected to agree to join the Tangerines until January, although it is not a done deal yet.
Quinn has spent most of the summer on trial with United and, with Tam Scobbie having injured his groin in the Dundee derby, the move would be a timely one for the Tannadice men, who face Queen of the South at home this afternoon.
Quinn (32) started his career at Motherwell in 2002 and after seven years he moved to Cardiff City before joining Doncaster Rovers.
The first of two spells in Dingwall started in 2014 before Quinn moved to Aberdeen 12 months later, with his time at Pittodrie best remembered for a winning goal against Celtic.
Quinn returned to County in January of 2016 and he scored on his debut, again against Celtic, as Jim McIntyre’s side reached the League Cup final with the defender picking up a winners’ medal against Hibs two months later.
He left the Staggies at the end of last season after his contract expired and he has been training with United since pre-season and has featured as a trialist.
