Dundee United have made towering Ukrainian goalkeeper Yevhen Kucherenko one of their summer transfer targets.
Kucherenko, 25, is currently on the books of LNZ Cherkasy in the top-flight of his homeland, keeping eight clean sheets in 30 appearances last season.
The 6ft3ins stopper helped Cherkasy to a 12th-place finish last term and boasts one cap for the Ukraine U/21 side.
Well-travelled Kucherenko has previously been on the book of Georgian outfit Dila Gori, FC Aksu of Kazakhstan, Portuguese side Leiria and Kolos Kovalivka in Greece.
And his career could take him to Scotland, with United keen to tempt him to Tannadice. However, with the keeper contracted to Cherkasy until 2027, a deal must be agreed with the club and the player.
Jim Goodwin is keen to strengthen his goalkeeping pool after loan star Jack Walton returned south to fight for the No.1 spot with parent club Luton Town, leaving Dave Richards and Ruairidh Adams as the club’s two senior custodians.
More to come
Meanwhile, Courier Sport understands United are in advanced talks with a central midfielder and another striker – hot on the heels of Zac Sapsford’s signing – with at least one capture expected to be made official this week.
